Jan Louis

Founder and
Managing Director
Jan Louis is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and CFA charterholder with extensive experience in the private financial markets, including over a decade in the UK. As founder and Managing Director of West Peak Capital, he leads the firm’s strategic initiatives, origination, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to West Peak, he was part of the core founder team at Africa Merchant Capital in the UK, where they built and ran strategies across corporate advisory, long-only equity, structured trade and commodity finance, and infrastructure. Before AMC whilst in the UK, Jan Louis worked in the investment and advisory front office at Templewood Merchant Bank, CFO office at Wells Fargo London and Group Finance at Barclays PLC. Jan Louis qualified as a CA(SA) with PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Africa in 2006.

Cobus is a seasoned finance executive and Chartered Accountant (SA) with over two decades experience across multiple industries. At West Peak Capital, Cobus helps to drive strategy, finance, operations, and client advisory in capital raising, restructuring, and M&A. His career spans senior leadership roles at Red Bull South Africa, Campari South Africa and Broom Logistics Africa & Europe, where he was responsible for the full finance function, driving operational efficiencies, financial systems implementations, and managed teams. Cobus began his career at PwC, honing his expertise in assurance, advisory, and risk services for leading multinational clients.

Frans is an accomplished Executive Advisor with over 35 years of professional experience, including 25 years as an Audit Partner and Assurance Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers South Africa. As a Chartered Accountant and SAICA member based in Stellenbosch, he has advised shareholders and management at listed and private companies, with a strong focus on family-owned businesses, and the agricultural sector. As PwC’s Agribusiness Industry Leader for Africa, Frans built an extensive industry network with vast experience across the various sub-sectors and value chains on the continent. He is a recognised family business specialist, guiding clients through strategy, governance and succession planning.
